I have not tried it yet. I do know that my Blackberry user friends are accessing thru that. The geo-location features are dependent on the specs of the handsets. Till date, iPhone 3GS seem to be good at the zoom-in of the locations.

Hi Bernard, <br>Did you try m.foursquare.com? It works for non-smartphones over 2G, but of course the interface is a lot simpler compared to the apps. I think what's interesting is the monetization part of it. Affiliation would be an obvious option, but somehow I don't think Foursquare would go for the obvious. It would sacrifice the user experience and won't separate them from other players in the location-based social network services. They are the leader now in this young space. My feeling is they will wait until geolocation technology on smartphones are more prevalent and they have more users, then come up with a creative monetization strategy. With the recent funding, they can afford to wait before becoming profitable.

I have Foursquare on my iPod Touch and the geo-location is quite inaccurate. I turn it on at home and it lists Bedok Interchange as a place where I can check in. Bedok Interchange is about 4 bus stops away from my place and not exactly near. Besides that, it can be quite addictive :)
